Designer's Bio
Y-Y Official / New York was founded by Ying (Irene), a New York-based fashion designer passionate about sustainability and innovative design.
After graduating from Pratt Institute, she gained experience working with prestigious fashion houses such as Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang, and Jill Stuart. These experiences exposed her to the environmental impact of traditional fashion production, inspiring her to create Y-Y—where creativity and sustainability merge.
Driven to make a positive change, Irene founded her brand, Y-Y, where creativity and sustainability merge. She minimizes production waste by utilizing upcycled materials, reimagines fashion with a focus on ethical practices, and offers one-of-a-kind garments uniquely defined by their original form. The brand’s emphasis on upcycled materials and handcrafted pieces reflects Irene’s deep-rooted belief that fashion can be a tool for positive change. Her collections are celebrated for their elegant silhouettes, artisanal details, and the integration of personal messages within the garments, adding a poetic and intimate layer to each piece.
